MUDRAS

One definition:

Mudra is a patterned movement mainly of the fingers that carries an idea or emotion.  Mudras are a gesture language capable of expressing ideas and suggesting symbols.  Mudras create an energy field and can be used in healing.  The ultimate goal of mudra is a higher state of consciousness.

Kalesvara Mudra

Calms anxious thoughts and agitated feelings; will "tranquilize" the mind within three minutes.

Method:  Place both palms together pairing thumbs and all fingers at tips.  Fold index, ring, and little fingers downward.  Middle fingers are extended outward, index fingers touch between first and second joint, ring and little finger are relaxed and curled downwards towards palms.  Point thumbs toward your body with middle fingers pointing away.

Apana Mudra 

Has a grounding effect to help you connect with the Earth's energies whenever you are feeling off balance or flighty.

Method:  Join tips of thumb, middle and ring fingers.  Little finger and index finger are extended.
